About the Scholarship
This scholarship is instituted to recognise and support a meritorious student from EEE, Computer Science, or AI at IIT Guwahati.
It covers two academic semesters, with a stipend of ₹50,000 per semester.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment by Ziroh Labs and IIT Guwahati to encourage academic excellence and support promising students in their academic journey.
About Prof. Anup Kumar Gogoi
Prof. Anup Kumar Gogoi was the founding architect of the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at IIT Guwahati.
He joined IIT Guwahati in 1997 as one of its early faculty members and played a key role in building the department into a leading centre for research and learning.
A PhD graduate from IIT Kanpur, he was widely respected for his work in Electromagnetic Theory and Microwave Engineering. His contributions laid the foundation for advanced RF systems and wireless communication technologies in India.
His research in printed monopole antennas and polarisation diversity enabled compact and efficient solutions used in modern communication systems.
Beyond research, he contributed to academic leadership as Dean of the Outreach Education Programme at IIT Guwahati and as a member of the Planning Board at Tezpur University.
He was also a member of the Board of Directors at Ziroh Labs and had been associated with the organisation since its inception.
